Matteo Guendouzi reveals transfer advice from Arsenal duo
Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi joined Hertha Berlin on a loan deal at the start of this season and the 21 year old midfielder has now explained that the likes of Mesut Ozil and burnt Leno convinced him to go ahead with the transfer.
“I had a very good relationship with Mesut Ozil and Bernd Leno,” the 21-year-old told Kicker. “Both of them told me a lot of good things about the Bundesliga.”
“I played over 80 games there and had a good, intense time there,” he added. “I learned a lot there in terms of sport and grew up there. It was two good years for me.”
Guendouzi had fallen down the pecking order under Arteta and he needed to play regular first-team football. A move to the German club could prove to be the right decision for him and it will help him continue his development.
It will be interesting to see if the 21 year old has a future at Arsenal. There is no doubt that he is highly talented but his attitude needs to change in order for him to succeed at Arsenal.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners decide to cash in on him at the end of this season.
Guendouzi has immense potential and he could develop into a top-class player in future. Ideally, Arsenal should look to give him another chance to prove himself at the London club. The Gunners might regret their decision if they let him leave at the end of this season.
