Arsenal central defender Gabriel has taken to Instagram to express his disappointment at his side’s defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend.
The Gunners suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Villa at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Mikel Arteta’s side conceded the opening goal of the match in North London after 25 minutes when Bukayo Saka turned Matt Targett’s cross into his own net.
Villa doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute when summer signing Ollie Watkins headed home Ross Barkley’s volleyed delivery from close range.
The striker made it 3-0 just three minutes later when he finished past Bernd Leno after some brilliant work from Jack Grealish.
Gabriel, who joined Arsenal from Lille in the summer of 2020, started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and he is disappointed with the final result.
The 22-year-old Brazilian, though, has made it clear that the defeat will not affect him and his teammates, and that the players will work hard to improve and bounce back.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium, hosts Arsenal had 59% of the possession, took 13 shots of which two were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Villa had 41% of the possession, took 15 shots of which six were on target, and earned eight corners, according to BBC Sport.
Gabriel had a pass accuracy of 80.3%, won two headers, took 93 touches, and made four interceptions and three clearances, according to WhoScored.
