Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has responded to Arsenal star Kieran Tierney’s post on Instagram following Scotland’s success last night.
Tierney has taken to Instagram to express his delight at Scotland qualifying for the European Championship next summer.
Steve Clarke’s side got the better of Serbia 5-4 on penalties after the playoff final ended 1-1 after extra time on Thursday evening.
The win in Belgrade saw Scotland book their place in the European Championship next summer, their first major international tournament in 23 years.
Both Tierney and Robertson played for Scotland on Thursday evening, and the Liverpool left-back has responded to the Arsenal left-back’s post on Instagram.
Robertson responded: “What a player ❤️”
How did Kieran Tierney play last night?
Tierney was part of a back-three for Scotland against Serbia, and the former Celtic star did not look out of place.
The 23-year-old, who joined Arsenal from the Hoops in the summer of 2019, was strong at the back and was defensively superb.
The youngster also made a brilliant attacking foray in the first half and was an asset for the team.
According to WhoScored, against Serbia, Tierney had a pass accuracy of 79%, won one header, took 70 touches, made three clearances, and put in one cross.
Important player for Arsenal
Tierney had injury problems last season and could not make the desired impact at Arsenal, but the former Celtic star was very good for Mikel Arteta’s side after lockdown.
The 23-year-old is doing well for the Gunners at the moment, and his importance to the team will only grow in the coming weeks and months.
According to WhoScored, Tierney has played seven times in the Premier League and has played 32 minutes in the Europa League for Arsenal so far this season.
