Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta likes Dominik Szoboszlai a lot and the Gunners are one of the clubs interested in signing him, according to Spanish media outlet AS via Sport Witness.
The 20 year old has been one of Red Bull Salzburg’s most important players in recent times. He has scored five goals and provided nine assists in 13 appearances across all competitions this season for the Austrian club. He scored an injury time winner in Hungary’s 2-1 win over Iceland last night to seal his country’s place in next summer’s European Championship.
The Hungarian midfielder made his debut for RB Salzburg in May 2018. Since making his debut, he has scored 22 goals and provided 33 assists in 74 appearances. He has been linked with Arsenal, AC Milan, RB Leipzig and most recently, Real Madrid. RB Leipzig will have a bit of an advantage in the race to sign the player as they share the same sponsors as his current club.
Szoboszlai has less than two years remaining on his contract with the Austrian side and it is understood that he will not sign a new deal. He is likely to be for sale next summer and for a reasonable price. Arsenal are in need of a midfielder who is capable of making a difference in the attacking third and the Hungary international looks to fit the bill. His agent admitted that the Gunners are interested in the player last week.
