Gilberto Silva says ‘Grealish could be the future for Arsenal’

Former Gunner Gilberto Silva has said that Grealish could be the future for Arsenal, according to The Invisible Wall Show via Goal

Speaking about Grealish, Gilberto Silva said:

“Grealish, amazing. It seems like he could be a player that Arsenal missed. With his ability, he was one of the guys in the middle who can play beautiful football. He controls the ball, assists and can score goals.”

“He is slightly different from Dennis Bergkamp, but he could be somebody for the future at Arsenal.”

The Aston Villa midfielder played a crucial role in his side’s 3-0 victory at the Emirates last week and has made a blistering start to the season. He has scored five goals and provided six assists in eight appearances across all competitions this season. His great form has been pivotal to Villa’s strong start to the season. They are currently sixth in the Premier League table.

Grealish has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past. It is understood that Arsenal asked to be kept informed on his availability last season but after it became evident that Villa valued him at 80 million, the Gunners dropped their interest.

The Aston Villa captain signed a new deal last summer and so does not seem to be keen on exiting the club anytime soon. He has formed a great partnership with Ross Barkley who signed for Villa on loan from Chelsea in the summer. He has been called up to the national team on more than one occasion this season and looks likely to cement his place in the squad ahead of next season’s European Championship.
