‘Ready’: Arsenal loanee Konstantinos Mavropanos posts message on Twitter
|Konstantinos Mavropanos has made a post on Twitter this evening following the return of the Arsenal-owned player to training for Stuttgart.
The 22-year-old central defender joined Stuttgart on a season-long loan deal in July after signing a new contract with Arsenal.
The youngster suffered a meniscus injury in October and required surgery on his knee.
It ruled out the Greek defender for five weeks, and, according to a report in Football.London this week, he is now back in training.
Mavropanos has posted a photo on Twitter this evening of him in training and has said that he is ready to get back to competitive action.
The defender made his competitive debut for Stuttgart against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on October 3.
Having a good season
Mavropanos is a very talented and promising young central defender who did well in the second division in Germany during the second half of last season when he was on loan at Nuremberg.
The youngster will be looking to have a successful campaign at Stuttgart and play regularly for Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side in the coming weeks and months.
Although Arsenal have quite a number of centre-backs on their books at the moment, the fact that the Gunners handed him a new contract before sending him out on loan in the summer of 2020 suggests that they have faith in his ability and quality.
A good season at Stuttgart could help Mavropanos break into Mikel Arteta’s team at Arsenal in 2021-22.
