Kolasinac tests positive for COVID-19
|Sead Kolasinac has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Sky Sports.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina football federation have confirmed that the Arsenal defender will miss the game against Italy as a result of the fact that he has returned a positive test. The 27 year old will now self-isolate and is likely to miss the Gunners’ next few games.
Kolasinac is the second Arsenal player to contract the coronavirus during the international break after Mohamed Elneny tested positive earlier this week. The Egypt international has returned a second positive test today and will continue to be in self-isolation until he recovers. He is believed to be asymptomatic.
This news will come as a hammer blow to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta who will be without both these players for the game against Leeds United on Sunday. They will likely miss the Europa League tie against Molde and subsequent Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Bosnia international is not a regular starter for the North London club but has featured seven times in all competitions so far this season. Elneny, on the other hand, has forced his way back into the first team and has been one of Arsenal’s most impressive players so far this season.
