Nice interested in signing Saliba on loan
|French club Nice are interested in signing William Saliba on loan in January, according to French media outlet But! Football via Football.london.
Patrick Vieira’s side will be without Dante due to an injury and are in need of defensive reinforcements. The French side believe that Saliba would be a shrewd acquisition. The 19 year old is yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners and it is understood that the player is keen on securing a loan move in January. The North London side are open to the idea of sending him out on loan for the remainder of the season so that he can get regular game time.
Saint-Etienne, Saliba’s former club, are also interested in signing him next month. They were very close to signing him on a season long loan towards the end of the summer transfer window but were unable to seal the deal due to administrative difficulties. The French club are likely to compete with Nice for Saliba’s signature in the upcoming transfer window.
Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he believes the French defender needs to have a transitional period before he is ready to make the step up to the Arsenal first team. The club will definitely study all proposals received regarding Saliba to ensure they make the best decision for the player and the club.
