Arsenal wait for Szoboszlai to make a decision on his future

Arsenal are waiting for Red Bull Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai to make a decision on his future, according to Sky Sports.

The Hungary international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Austrian club in the January transfer window. He has been in scintillating form this season which has seen him score eight goals and provide nine assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. Since joining RB Salzburg in 2018, Szoboszlai has scored 25 goals and provided 33 assists in 80 appearances.

The Gunners and Red Bull Leipzig are believed to be keen on signing the player. It is understood that he must decide whether he wants to leave in January or stay in Austria until the end of the season by December 15th.

RB Leipzig can offer him Champions League football and this could work in their favour. The player is understood to be aware that both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are interested in securing his services next summer. He has a buyout clause of around £23 million.

The North London club are in dire need of an attacking midfielder and Szoboszlai is one of Europe’s most exciting young midfielders. The 20 year old will go a long way towards addressing Arsenal’s lack of creativity in the middle of the park.
