Szoboszlai to arrive in Leipzig for his medical tomorrow
|Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai is set to arrive in Leipzig for his medical tomorrow ahead of joining Red Bull Leipzig in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Bull Salzburg midfielder has attracted interest from Arsenal, RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. He has decided to join Julian Nagelsmann’s side and this will come as a blow to the Gunners. They are in dire need of a creative midfielder and Szoboszlai is one of the most promising young attacking midfielders in the continent.
RB Leipzig are close to finding an agreement with RB Salzburg and personal terms are expected to be finalised soon. The 20-year-old has a buyout clause believed to be in the region of £23 million.
Szoboszlai has been in fine form this season which has seen him score eight goals and provide ten assists in 20 appearances across all competitions. Since joining Salzburg in 2018, he has scored 25 goals and provided 34 assists in 81 games. He has made 12 appearances for his country and has scored three goals. He scored the goal that sealed their qualification to next year’s European Championship.
The Gunners will now focus on their other targets in attacking midfield. They have been linked with Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia and Inter Milan’s Christian Eriksen.
