Sevilla will listen to offers for reported Arsenal target Jordan next month

Sevilla will listen to offers for reported Arsenal target Joan Jordan next month, according to Sky Sports.

The Spaniard is capable of playing as a defensive or attacking midfielder and has performed exceedingly well at Sevilla since joining the club from Eibar for £12.6 million in 2019. Prior to his move to the Spanish side, he was linked with a move to the Gunners.

The 26-year-old has a £55 million release clause but Sevilla are willing to listen to any offers just under that price tag. Spanish clubs are struggling financially due to the effects of the pandemic and are looking to raise funds. There are a number of European clubs that are reported to be interested in Jordan and it has been reported elsewhere in the British media that Arsenal are one of the sides that are keeping tabs on the player.

Jordan has scored one goal and three assists in 19 appearances for Sevilla in all competitions this season. Since joining the Spanish club, he has scored three goals and provided six assists in 66 appearances.

The Gunners are struggling to create chances in front of goal and are prioritising the signing of a creative midfielder who can help them unlock their attacking potential. They have been linked with Christian Eriksen of Inter Milan, Emi Buendia of Norwich, Julian Brandt of Borussia Dortmund and now Joan Jordan.

The North London club came close to signing Houssem Aouar from Lyon in the summer but were unable to agree a transfer fee with the French side. They have cooled their interest in the player and are choosing to focus on other targets.
