Shakhtar Donetsk winger Solomon ‘highly interested’ in Arsenal transfer as super agent Zahavi gets involved

Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon is highly interested in a transfer to Arsenal and super agent Pini Zahavi is now involved in facilitating a deal, according to Chris Wheatley of football.london.

The Israel international has been in stellar form for the Ukranian side this season. In the 2020/21 campaign, he has scored five goals and provided one assist in 17 appearances across all competitions. He has been particularly impressive in the club’s Champions League campaign and has done well for his national team. The 21-year-old has scored one goal in 14 appearances for Israel.

A source close to the winger revealed that he would be ‘delighted’ if the Israel international was to sign for the Gunners but admitted that ‘there is a long way to go’ before a transfer materialises.

It is understood that Israeli super agent Pini Zahavi has been involved in talks between the North London club and the player. He has reportedly been in touch with Arsenal’s technical director Edu Gaspar.

Zahavi offered the player to the Gunners in the summer but Raul Sanllehi, the head of football at the time, dismissed the move. Solomon’s impressive performances for club and country this season have put him back on the North London side’s radar.

The 21-year-old is understood to be utilising Zahavi’s services to put him in contact with a number of Premier League sides as he looks to move to England in the summer. Zahavi is a friend of Kia Joorabchian, another super agent with close links to Edu who helped the club broker deals to sign Willian, David Luiz and Cedric in the recent past.

The Shakhtar Donetsk winger is represented by Israeli agents Shlomy Ben Azra and Gilad Katsav. Zahavi is acting as an intermediary between the player’s camp and interested clubs.

Ben Ezra recently admitted that the likelihood of a transfer going ahead in January is ‘50/50’. Solomon has been linked with a move to Arsenal this month but is believed that the player would prefer to join the club in the summer so that he has the opportunity to be a part of the club’s pre-season ahead of making his debut in English football.

It is understood that Solomon is one of a number of options being considered by Arsenal in his position.
