Arsenal have joined the race to sign 21-year-old La Liga star Alexander Isak. The Gunners have reportedly offered Real Sociedad €60 million for the transfer.

The La Liga side will play the waiting game for a while since the young forward has drawn interest from multiple clubs including Liverpool.

This is not the first time that Arsenal have shown keen interest in Isak. In 2016, the Gunners tried to sign the then 17-year-old from AIK, but the transfer never took place.

Arsenal are reportedly investing in the 21-year-old with an aim to make him the long-term successor for Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The interest makes sense since the Arsenal captain has been linked with a move to Barcelona recently.

Isak has managed to make it big in his Spain stint as well. After joining Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund, he has bagged a staggering 33 goals and five assists in 91 appearances for the La Liga side.

Neither Isak nor his manager have signalled the next destination for the young sensation. Considering Arsenal’s reputation of honing young talent, coming over to Emirates Stadium doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

The centre-forward will only get to elevate his skills, playing in one of the toughest leagues in the world.
