Arsenal likely to sign two new players as Mikel Arteta identifies targets for January

Arsenal likely to sign a midfielder, forward in upcoming transfer windows

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has identified two positions — midfield and centre forward — that could be worked on by bringing on two fresh pairs of legs to the Emirates Stadium.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal will go all out in the upcoming transfer windows to sign two new players for the aforementioned positions.

Many Gunners should have seen this move coming after the addition of Ben White, Nuno Tavares and Takehiro Tomiyasu into the Arsenal defence.

With the defence trio brimming with confidence, it is time for the Gunners to improve at the other end of the pitch. However, Arteta will have to ensure that he’s spot on with the signings. The former Arsenal player has spent big bucks in his short coaching stint so far.

He has been under criticism for a while for not producing results with new signings as the Premier League giants are yet to open their account this season. They’ve failed to win any of the three games they have featured in.

Arsenal fans are pleased with the arrival of Real Madrid loanee, Martin Odegaard, but the team will need another veteran midfielder to partner with the young talent. Morever, Arteta is on the search for a long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
