Top journo explains why Arteta’s departure will not solve Arsenal’s woes

Top journo explains why Arteta is best man for Arsenal job

Amid all the flak that Mikel Arteta has received for Arsenal’s poor outings, a journalist feels that the former Arsenal star is the right man for the job.

Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge believes the reason the Gunners have had below-par performances ever since Arteta took charge has to do with the backroom team, adding that Arsenal will not be able to improve even if the management finds a better fit than Arteta.

“I look at a central midfielder, I look at the whole team, to be honest with you, it’s dreadful. I fear that if Arteta goes they’ll get a really good manager in,” Bridge said. “But then speaking to people who know more about Arsenal than I do, they think the whole policy is bad, they think Edu doesn’t have enough European knowledge. Maybe it’s a real club issue and not just the manager.”

Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League last season. They have missed out on European football and currently sit at the bottom of the table.

The Gunners will face Norwich City next. So far, Arteta’s men have failed to score a single goal in the three games they have played against Bratford, Manchester City and Chelsea.
