Mikel Arteta has confided in Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette for playing a major role in the club’s upcoming games in the Premier Leagues. The Frenchman hasn’t yet started in any game this season.

At first, Lacazette had to miss out on the first two league games because he was down with the coronavirus. He was then benched in the next games as well.

The 30-year-old was fit by the time Arsenal met Norwich at the Emirates Stadium, but Arteta decided not to feature him in the 1-0 win, which marked the Gunners’ first win of the campaign.

Speaking to Football London, the Arsenal boss claimed that the Frenchman is in his plans for the rest of the season.

“No, he’s fully involved. You gave the reasons why he hasn’t played more minutes,” Arteta responded when asked whether he’ll start the forward soon. “He will be back to the form that he can achieve. I’m sure that he will be instrumental in our success.”

In 2017, Arsenal signed Lacazette for £46.5million after the Frenchman turned up with stellar performances for Lyon consistently. Before this season, the forward was heavily linked with AS Roma and Juventus have now eyed him as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
