Arsenal handed triple fitness boost ahead of Man City clash

Arsenal have been handed a triple fitness boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester City this afternoon.
The Gunners are currently fourth in the standings with 35 points. They are on a four-match winning run, but face a tough task of extending the streak.
Their record against the Cityzens has been poor in recent years. They have lost each of the previous nine league meetings against Pep Guardiola’s side.
However, they have beaten them in two FA Cup semi-finals (2017 and 2020) and have the chance to make a big statement against the Cityzens today.
Ahead of the game, they have received a triple fitness boost with Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares back in training after recovering from Covid-19.
The trio are only considered as squad players at the moment, but Chambers or Soares could be called upon to play at right-back in the absence of Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Tomiyasu has been a revelation, but could miss the encounter. The Japan star tested positive for coronavirus recently, and was not visible in any training pictures.
White played at right-back against the Canaries, but experienced a couple of nervous moments.
The 23-year-old is not a natural in the position, and is likely to be reinstated in central defence where he has formed a solid partnership alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles is another option to play at right-back, but the 24-year-old may not feature amid speculation that he could be joining Roma in the coming days.
