Arsenal trio make England squad for Nations League games

Arsenal trio Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White and Bukayo Saka have been picked by England boss Gareth Southgate for the upcoming Nations League games.

The Three Lions have a busy schedule next month with Hungary (twice), Germany and Italy to face in the space of just 12 days.

With only the top side in the group qualifying for the semi-finals of the Nations League, there is plenty at stake in every fixture.

Saka, who has become a mainstay in the Three Lions set-up, should be fancied to start the majority of the matches.

However, the Gunners fans will be hoping that is not the case with the 20-year-old having played continuously.

Saka picked up knocks at different stages last season, but he showed excellent recovery levels after every game.

He ended up being ever-present in the league as the club finished fifth, thus qualifying for next season’s Europa League.

Mikel Arteta recently said that he would speak with Southgate over Saka’s workload, having barely received any rest last term.

However, Southgate is well within his rights to ignore requests and Saka will have a key role to play for England next month.

Meanwhile, Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale will also be hoping for more minutes. The former has only featured in friendlies.

White’s fitness is another potential concern, considering he only recently returned from a hamstring injury.
