Arsenal handed triple injury boost ahead of Man Utd clash

Arsenal have been handed a triple injury boost with Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard and Oleksandr Zinchenko all part of the travelling squad to face Manchester United.

The Gunners have been without Zinchenko for the past two games with a knee injury and earlier on Friday, Arteta revealed that he won’t feature, having not trained with the team yet.

Hence, the Ukraine international appears doubtful to make the matchday squad at Old Trafford this afternoon, but the manager could spring up a surprise by naming him in the team sheet.

Aside from the left-back, Manchester Evening News report that Ramsdale and Odegaard are part of the travelling group to Manchester. The duo seem more likely to face the Red Devils.

Ramsdale picked up a minor hamstring injury in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa in midweek, but he was able to carry on for the entirety of the encounter.

Odegaard was unable to do the same, having been substituted in the 81st minute. He was carrying a swollen ankle, but may have recovered just in time.

The availability of Ramsdale and Odegaard would be a big boost for the Gunners. They would not want to field goalkeeper Matt Turner, who has yet to make an appearance in English football.

Emile Smith Rowe would obviously be the like-for-like replacement for Odegaard, but the young Gunners graduate has had a quiet start to the season.

Injuries have hampered his progress this campaign, and he may not be able to provide the same level of attacking output as the in-form Odegaard.

The Norwegian star has taken his game to the next level this season with three goals in five appearances while he has created numerous goalscoring chances.

Odegaard could have easily had a few assists if not for the disappointing finishing from his teammates.
