Arsenal without three first-team stars for Bodo/Glimt game

Arsenal will be without three players when they entertain Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Gunners have had a tremendous campaign thus far and they are currently top of the Premier League standings after eight matchdays.

Meanwhile, they have also won their only Europa League game against FC Zurich and will be aiming to continue the good form tomorrow.

Ahead of the Europa League game, manager Mikel Arteta will be without three first-team stars with two of those being long-term absentees.

Mohamed Elneny picked up a hamstring injury against Fulham in August, and Arteta has already confirmed that he won’t return anytime soon.

Aside from Elneny, Emile Smith Rowe is sidelined until the World Cup break after undergoing a surgery to repair a torn tendon in his groin.

Apart from the duo, football.london claim that Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to miss the game, having not been involved in the open training session today.

He has not picked up a serious injury, but the Gunners have taken a precautionary measure, as he has just returned from a minor calf concern.

Arsenal are currently second in their Europa League group behind Bodo/Glimt, who have four points.

However, the Norwegian outfit have played a game more. The Gunners’ recent meeting against PSV was postponed amid policing issues after the Queen’s demise.

The Gunners have their destiny in their own hands at the moment, and they must ensure to finish top of the group to avoid playing an extra knockout round.

The winner of the group will head straight to the round of 16 of the Europa League while the runner-up will face a third-placed side from the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta is bound to make wholesale changes tomorrow. We could see several of the regulars rested to keep them afresh for the league meeting against Liverpool.
