Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Wolves

Arsenal face off against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their final Premier League game before the World Cup break.  The Gunners are currently holding a slender two-point lead at the top of the standings over Manchester City and may need a victory at the Molineux Stadium tonight to stay top until Christmas.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Aaron Ramsdale has played every minute of the club’s top-flight campaign thus far. He is expected to start between the sticks ahead of Matt Turner and Karl Hein, who was handed a surprise debut in the League Cup third round defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The defence should comprise of the same quartet from the Chelsea win last weekend.

From the Brighton loss on Wednesday, Cedric Soares, Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney are expected to drop to the bench for Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko respectively.

Takehiro Tomiyasu looks set to miss the Gunners’ final game before the World Cup as he continues to nurse a minor hamstring injury. The Japan international was not spotted in yesterday’s training pictures.

In midfield, it should be the familiar duo of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka. Xhaka has had an outstanding season from the advanced central midfield role, registering four goals and three assists.

However, Partey has been equally impressive from the number six position. The Ghanaian has grown in confidence as the season has progressed. Hopefully, he stays unscathed during the World Cup.

Further forward, a complete reshuffle is expected with Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah dropping to the bench.

Nketiah was a bright spark in midweek but Gabriel Jesus is an assured starter up front when it comes to the league games. The Brazilian offers more than just goals with his terrific work rate and hold-up play.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are nailed-on starters in the right and left wing positions respectively and the same is the case for club captain Martin Odegaard from the number 10 role.
