Arsenal have asked for information on Nicolo Zaniolo

Arsenal have asked for information on Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo, Italian outlet Roma Giallorossa claim.

The Gunners are planning to bolster their attack during the upcoming transfer window and it has been revealed that Mykhaylo Mudryk is the priority target.

He is currently valued at a staggering €100 million by Shakhtar Donetsk, but the Gunners remain hopeful of lowering the valuation in the coming weeks.

While that happens, Roma Giallorossa now claim that Arsenal have asked for information on Zaniolo, who is also on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

The Gunners are not planning a January bid, but could reportedly make their proposal in June. Their approach could depend on Zaniolo turning down a new contract at Roma.

Zaniolo would be a quality acquisition for Arsenal

Arsenal have changed their transfer policy since the summer of 2021. Their focus lies on pursuing players with potential and Zaniolo perfectly fits their requirements.

The 23-year-old would be a quality acquisition for manager Mikel Arteta as he can play anywhere in attack, though he prefers the number 10 and right-wing roles.

Zaniolo is currently valued at around €30 million by Transfermarkt, but the Gunners will be hoping to sign him for less as he will enter the final year of his contract in June.

The player has yet to be convinced over a renewal by Roma and the ongoing contract stand-off should only benefit the Gunners in prising him away at the end of the season.

Champions League football could be essential to luring the exciting Italian next summer amid interest from Spurs, United, Napoli as well as his former club Inter Milan.
