Arsenal must beat Spurs and Liverpool to Amrabat signing

Arsenal must beat Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to the signing of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in January.

The Moroccan was one of the best-performing players at the World Cup and he could now pursue a bigger challenge away from Florence.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Spurs and Liverpool are among his main admirers and in our opinion, Arsenal must enter the race.

The midfielder could reportedly be sold for between €40 million to €45 million next month.

Arsenal must sign Amrabat this winter

The Gunners currently have Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka as their first-choice midfielders but there is not much behind them in terms of quality.

Mohamed Elneny has stood out on occasions, but the club need an upgrade in the department in order to stay aloft in the Premier League title race.

The hierarchy should be wary of Partey’s injury record and they must secure a hard-working midfielder that can seamlessly fill in his potential absence.

In our view, Amrabat would be the perfect fit. The 26-year-old has won nearly two tackles and one interception per game during the current campaign.

He has also managed two clearances per outing while completing 89 per cent of his passes. Aside from this, he has excelled with his tireless work rate.

Amrabat has shown that he can stand out against the best after impressing against Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Portugal and France at the recent World Cup.

At €45 million, he would represent a good piece of business as he is in the prime of his career and it is left to be seen whether Arsenal make a move for him.
