Arsenal want to sign Mudryk and Felix this month
|
Arsenal are looking to sign both Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix during the ongoing transfer window, according to The Telegraph.
Mudryk has been the Gunners’ prime target for some time and it has been recently reported that there is a £17.6 million difference in the valuation with Shakhtar Donetsk.
London rivals Chelsea have now entered the race to sign the Ukraine international, but the Gunners are still confident of signing Mudryk, who has the preference to join them.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph reveal that Arsenal are now stepping up their pursuit of Atletico’s Felix. The size of the loan fee is expected to determine whether the club sign him.
Arsenal can make a huge statement by signing Mudryk and Felix
Mudryk has had a fantastic campaign with Shakhtar, registering 10 goals and eight assists from 18 games. Five of those goal contributions came in the Champions League group stage.
The 21-year-old has been hugely impressive with his speed, dribbling, finishing and ability to find key passes. He has a big future ahead which is the reason behind Shakhtar’s £88m price tag.
Arsenal are currently reluctant to pay more than £70.4m for him and they will be hoping that Shakhtar loosen their transfer stance in the coming days with Mudryk eager to join them.
Elsewhere, Felix has not had many goal involvements compared to Mudryk, but he has played way less. In under 900 minutes, the Portuguese has bagged five goals and three assists at Atletico.
As things stand, Atletico want a staggering £18.5m (including wages) to loan out Felix for five months. The Gunners will likewise be hoping that the Spanish club will lower their demands soon.
If Arsenal were to sign the duo, it would be a huge statement. It may not guarantee them the league title, but would put them in a strong position to withstand Manchester City’s threat.
The Gunners recently saw the Cityzens cut their advantage at the top of the Premier League to five points. Arsenal must bolster their attack this month to avoid their title challenge from faltering.
