Arsenal hold more talks with Atletico for Felix

Arsenal have held more talks with Atletico Madrid as they aim to sign Joao Felix on loan, The Daily Mail report.

The Gunners are aiming to bolster their attack this month and it has been recently reported that they are looking to sign both Mykhaylo Mudryk and Felix.

The club are currently locked in discussions with Shakhtar Donetsk for the former and there is optimism that they will sign him despite interest from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, it is now reported that the Gunners have held fresh negotiations with Atletico for Felix as they try to lower the overall package for a loan transfer.

Diego Simeone’s side are currently demanding £16 million (including wages) for the Portuguese star.

Arsenal must strengthen their attack this month

Arsenal had a good first half to the Premier League season, but they can’t rest on their laurels and must add more quality and depth for the title challenge ahead.

Mudryk would be a quality addition out wide while Felix would provide a good upgrade for Mikel Arteta up front in the prolonged injury absence of Gabriel Jesus.

Eddie Nketiah has netted in two of the previous three league matches but the Gunners graduate does not possess the dribbling skills to get behind tight defences.

Jesus is a big miss for the Gunners due to this reason. If Arsenal were to land Felix, he would offer more in and around the box with his quick feet and clever trickery.

The Portuguese, who possesses a ‘special talent’ as per Alvaro Morata, has had limited game time under manager Diego Simeone this season amid a fall-out.

Despite this, the £247,000-a-week ace has impressed with nine goal contributions in just 884 minutes.

A move to Arsenal could bring the best out of him as the club play a more progressive brand of football. It remains to be seen whether Atletico lower their loan fee.
