Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign 28-year-old Premier League star

Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Brighton winger Leandro Trossard in the January transfer window.

That’s according to highly respected journalist Fabrizio Romano who claims that talks are underway between Arsenal and Brighton about a permanent deal for the 28-year-old forward.

Personal terms have allegedly already been agreed between the Gunners and the Belgium international (Fabrizio Romano).

Mikel Arteta is clearly desperate to bring a top-class winger to the club in the January transfer window, having missed out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea. And it seems as though the Spaniard is closing in on his man…

Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Trossard

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reckons that this is a deal that could be wrapped up very shortly indeed:

I believe Trossard will be a very useful addition to Arteta’s ranks at the Emirates this month.

The Gunners are believed to be ready to pay around £20 million for the Brighton star (Daily Mail).

The Belgian ace has been on fire in the Premier League this season, with seven goals and three assists to his name in 16 games for the Seagulls so far. That tally included an incredible hat-trick against Liverpool at Anfield.

However, there is one big red flag. Trossard’s agent recently spoke out suggesting that his client wants a transfer away from Brighton after being humiliated by his manager Roberto De Zerbi. That came after the winger was dropped for Brighton’s clash with Liverpool, following a request to leave training early due to a knock that he had picked up.

Either way, the Gunners need more firepower in the final third if they are going to win the Premier League this season, and Trossard will be a very good short-term solution.

Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign him, so it probably won’t be too long before he swaps the south coast for north London.
