Major Arsenal boost as Mikel Arteta target Nicolo Zaniolo reportedly asks to be sold immediately

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost with the news that Nicolo Zaniolo has asked Roma to sell him as soon as possible.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition January 19th, page 17) who claim that Roma could sell the attacking midfielder to Arsenal for €35-40million (£31-35 million).

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is allegedly very keen to bring the 23-year-old Italy international to The Emirates in the January transfer window.

And now it seems as though the door could be wide open for Arsenal to prise Zaniolo away from AS Roma…

Nicolo Zaniolo takes transfer stance in boost for Arsenal

The Italy international is allegedly demanding that Roma sell him in the January window, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

This great news for the north London outfit, and Arteta should not hesitate to being him to the Emirates, in spite of the fact that he’s already signed Leandro Trossard.

Zaniolo is an attacking midfielder, or number 10, by trade but he can also operate on both wings. Unlike most technically gifted play-makers, the 23-year-old is an absolute unit. Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Zaniolo possesses an imposing physique, and is seemingly perfectly built for the Premier League.

Calcio Mercato once described him as a ‘powerhouse’, and they’re not wrong. He would provide Arteta with an option that he doesn’t currently possess in the final third. €40 million for Nicolo Zaniolo would represent an exceptional deal for Arsenal in my opinion, and who knows…they might be able to sign him for even less than that.

With the 23-year-old keen to leave Roma, it could only be a matter of time before he moves to the Premier League.
