David Ornstein claims Arsenal have just agreed deal for 3rd Jan signing, but there’s a problem

David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal have agreed a £13 million deal to sign Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda.
The well-renowned football journalist wrote in his column for the Athletic that Arsenal have agreed a fee with the Spanish side for the talented 18-year-old defender.
However, the Gunners face a potentially big problem. Borussia Dortmund have had an offer accepted for Fresneda as well, according to Ornstein.
So now it will be very much up to the player. And if truth be told, the fact that he would have Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu ahead of him in the right-back pecking order at The Emirates may well put him off moving to north London…
David Ornstein claims Arsenal agree fee for Fresneda
The young Spaniard has drawn attention from the Gunners over the past few months. And with a £13 million fee agreed for him, it’s now very much down to the player as to where he will be plying his trade next season.
Fresneda is a top talent. He possesses incredible technical ability and has pace in abundance. He does need to bulk up, but that will come with time as his body matures.
As mentioned earlier, I believe that a move to Arsenal may well stunt his growth as a player over the next year or so. Unless of course Arteta has a plan to integrate him into the first XI immediately. I just can’t see it.
Perhaps a move to Borussia Dortmund would be the right move for him at this stage of his career. And then maybe Arsenal will be the next step for him a few years down the line. David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal have had a bid for Fresneda accepted though. So there is every chance that the young Spaniard will find a move to The Emirates just too hard to resist.
