After Arsenal bid, Moises Caicedo pleads with Brighton to let him leave before deadline day
Arsenal target Moises Caicedo has pleaded with Brighton to allow him the chance to move away from the club in the January transfer window.
Central midfield is definitely an area at the Emirates where Mikel Arteta lacks any kind of strength in depth.
The Gunners are a Thomas Partey or Granit Xhaka injury away from seeing their title challenge crumble in my opinion. And it seems as though Arteta knows that as well.
Moises Caicedo would be a fabulous addition for Arsenal. It must be said that Brighton are notoriously difficult to negotiate with. However, the 21-year-old is seemingly trying to push through the transfer to the north London club…
Moises Caicedo makes Arsenal plea
The 21-year-old wrote a message to Brighton on his official Instagram account last night, pleading with them to facilitate his move to Arsenal.
Caicedo wrote:
“I am grateful to Mr. Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart. I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador. My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador. I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful. The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
Wow! Arsenal surely cannot sit around and wait now, they have to force the issue.
The Ecuador international has absolutely everything needed to go on and become a world-class player. He is powerful, has blistering pace, is tenacious in the tackle, is a very good passer of the football and has a terrific temperament.
It might take £70 million to tempt Brighton into selling, and if Arsenal can afford that fee this month, they should just make it happen now.
Caicedo would take Arsenal to a whole new level entirely and would strengthen Arteta’s options in the middle of the park considerably. It’s clear to see that the 21-year-old wants to join the Gunners as well.
