Arsenal very interested in signing Jesper Lindstrom

Arsenal are very interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom this summer, according to German outlet Sport1.

The Gunners signed Fabio Vieira from Porto last summer to bolster their attacking midfield department, but he has hardly played in the Premier League this term.

The Portuguese ace still has to improve his physique to adapt to the Premier League demands and we could see him involved more during the 2023/24 campaign.

This has not stopped speculation that Arsenal could sign another playmaker and Sport1 report that they are ‘very interested’ in Lindstrom.

The Dane has registered nine goals and four assists for Eintracht Frankfurt this campaign, and he is said to be eyeing a Premier League move.

With no release clause in his contract, it is reported that Arsenal would have to pay between €30-35 million to secure his services this summer.

Lindstrom would be a solid deputy

Martin Odegaard is currently an undisputed choice in the number 10 role, but he has hardly had cover with Vieira yet to make an impression.

Vieira is obviously gifted with the ability to score stunning long-range goals, but the Portuguese is still adapting to the higher intensity of the league.

Hence, we could see his real potential next season. If Arsenal were to sign Lindstrom, Vieira could end up as a back-up to Bukayo Saka on the right wing.

Lindstrom has played everywhere in attack in his early career but he is pre-dominantly an attacking midfielder and has excelled from the position.

The 2021/22 Europa League winner has a terrific work rate but still needs to improve with his distribution in order to succeed with the Gunners.

The Dane would fit into the club’s policy of pursuing upcoming stars with potential. Arsenal will be hoping to land his services for a lesser fee.
