Arsenal handed triple injury blow ahead of Sporting clash
|Arsenal are set to be without three key players ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League clash against Sporting Lisbon on the road.
The Gunners recently picked up a fourth-straight league win following a stunning last-gasp winner from Reiss Nelson against Bournemouth.
They will be aiming to carry the momentum into the Sporting game, but are likely to be without some key stars based on today’s training session.
Leandro Trossard picked up a groin injury in the first half against the Cherries and he was not spotted in today’s full session with his teammates.
Eddie Nketiah, who is carrying an ankle injury, will also miss out on the Lisbon trip. Kieran Tierney is another player that looks set to be absent tomorrow.
No update has been provided on Tierney’s absence but we should know more from Mikel Arteta’s press conference in Portugal later in the day.
Gabriel Jesus’ return to full training is the big news today and it remains to be seen whether he will travel for the first leg of the Europa League last 16 tie.

Jesus has not played since the World Cup break following a knee surgery. His injury has not proved costly for Arsenal with Nketiah and Trossard stepping up over the past few months.
The duo are now on the sidelines with short-term setbacks. If Jesus is deemed fit to make the matchday squad tomorrow, he could make a cameo appearance if there is a necessity.
Hopefully, that won’t be the case. Martinelli is braced to lead the line tomorrow. Nelson could be rewarded with a starting spot on the left wing following his heroics on Saturday.
