Gabriel Jesus issues rallying call to Arsenal teammates in Premier League title pursuit

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has urged his teammates to continue to stick together as they approach the final knockings of what is set to be an enthralling Premier League title race.

Courtesy of a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace yesterday, Arsenal have opened up an eight-point gap over defending champions Manchester City, who however have a game in hand.

Mikel Arteta’s men are well and truly on course to end their 19-year wait for a league crown heading into the final international break of the season.

Gunners’ forward Jesus is now looking forward to what he has tagged ‘the best part of the season’ and wants his teammates to continue to show the level they have shown over the last eight months.

“Now is, I think in my opinion, the best part of the season,” Jesus was quoted saying by The Mirror.

“When you have deciding games, big games as well, away and at home. Now is the time we have to play the same, don’t change, be together and then we will see.

“The team are doing so good. I think no one here is the main man. Everyone is together.

“When I got injured, we were sure Eddie [Nketiah] could go there and help us – and he did it. [Leandro] Trossard came in and did it as well.”

“So everyone is together. To be champions of this big, big competition we need not only 11 players.”

Off the back of a trophy-laden spell at Man City prior to his move to the Emirates Stadium, Jesus certainly knows a lot about winning Premier League titles as he goes in search of a fifth winners’ medal.

The Brazilian, who is still working his way up to full fitness having only just returned from a lengthy injury layoff, will be looking to get himself up to full speed ahead of the final 10 matches of the current campaign.
