Michal Rosiak pens first professional Arsenal contract
|Michael Rosiak has penned his first professional contract with Arsenal following his sublime performances for the Under-18 squad this season.
The Polish teenager has had a fantastic campaign in the youth academy. He has registered seven goals and six assists from just 15 appearances.
This includes a last-minute winner against Cambridge United in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final before his superb free-kick in the semi-final against Manchester City.
The Gunners have now decided to reward the 17-year-old with his first professional contract. Rosiak has expressed his delight over the same.
He told Arsenal’s official website: ” Signing my first professional contract for Arsenal means everything to me, it’s pretty amazing. Playing for the club I’ve always loved and watched growing up, hopefully it will be the first of many contracts.”
Rosiak could have a bright future at Arsenal
The Gunners currently have Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu as the regular right-back options but the latter is ruled out after a knee surgery.
Tomiyasu has had plenty of injury concerns over the last 12 months and the Gunners could contemplate replacing him if his issues persist.
There has been talk about Arsenal’s interest in Ivan Fresneda and the club could make a fresh approach to sign him in the summer transfer window.
However, we won’t be surprised that Rosiak gets a look in. The youngster is clearly an attacking full-back and could fit into Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Of course, the Pole has yet to prove himself at the top level. He could be sent out on loan before being integrated into the first-team squad.
