Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke sees net worth increase to £12.5bn

The net worth of Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has increased from £10.5 billion to £12.5bn, reports Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The 75-year-old has seen a £2bn increase in his net worth since March, handing the Gunners a potential boost ahead of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title this season to Manchester City despite coming close.

The north London club topped the table for 248 days before caving in to pressure in the last month of the campaign.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to mount another title challenge next term and go one better.

The Spaniard will need to be backed again in the transfer window, and Kroenke should not have a hard time bringing out the chequebook.

Arsenal spent £172 million on eight players across the last summer and winter transfer windows.

They will need to do more this summer and next January to boost their chances of winning their first title since 2004.

Their return to the Champions League and finishing second likely played a role in the rise of Kroenke’s fortunes.

As a result, the American billionaire could be inspired to invest more in the squad in the coming transfer windows.

Arsenal need more quality players to challenge across all competitions next term.

Securing Champions League football will further stretch their squad depth, and the upcoming summer transfer window is very crucial.

They cannot afford to fail to get the right players in, and they may need to break the bank if need be.
