Arsenal set to complete the transfers of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber by end of this week

Arsenal are set to complete the signings of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber by the end of this week, reports the Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel.

Medicals have been scheduled for the duo in the coming days, and it is expected that their signings can be formally completed by the weekend.

A full agreement between Arsenal and West Ham for Rice is expected to be sealed within the next 24 hours as talks continue today.

The North London club have agreed to pay £105 million for the 24-year-old, and both clubs want to iron out the timescale for payment.

The Hammers want the £100m Arsenal are paying upfront by the start of 2025, but the Gunners wanted to pay the money over the course of four years.

An agreement is set to be reached between both clubs as they look to reach a compromise.

There is also a verbal agreement in place with Ajax for Timber for an initial £40m, with a deal agreed in principle.

The final paperwork is set to be wrapped up as the Dutchman closes in on a move to the Premier League club.

Arsenal have already snapped up Kai Havertz from Chelsea and could soon announce both Rice and Timber in the coming days.

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to challenge for the title again after missing out on it to Manchester City last term.

Bolstering his attack, midfield and defence will come in handy ahead of next term, and the impending additions of Rice and Timber will go a long way.
