Wenger believes Arsenal will win the Premier League next season following summer recruitment
|Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes the Gunners will win the Premier League title next term following their summer acquisitions.
The North Londoners finally completed the £105 million signing of England international midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United on Saturday following a protracted saga.
Arsenal have also added Dutch defender Jurrien Timber (£38m) and German midfielder Kai Havertz (£65m) to their ranks as manager Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
The Spaniard watched as his side’s title challenge fizzled out last term during the closing stages of the campaign despite leading the way for the majority of the season.
Arsenal will look to challenge Manchester City and co for the Premier League again, and Wenger fancies his former side’s chances.
“I believe we will win the championship, it is as simple as that. I have less doubts for Arsenal than the cycling today,” the Frenchman told Eurosport when asked for his thoughts on Gunners’ chances in the Premier League next season.
Arsenal are expected to be stronger next term having added three quality players to their squad this summer.
It remains to be seen if Arteta has plans to make any more additions, but his side have much-needed depth to play across all four competitions next term and could do with more.
Challenging Man City will be tough as Pep Guardiola has a solid squad capable of retaining the title.
However, Arsenal will fancy their chances and it promises to be an intriguing campaign.
