Arsenal star Thomas Partey attracting a lot of interest

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is attracting ‘a lot of interest’ during the summer transfer window, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The Gunners recently parted ways with Granit Xhaka after securing the services of Declan Rice from West Ham United for a club-record transfer fee.

They are now open to parting ways with Partey for the right price, and Sheth confirms that there is plenty of interest in signing the Ghana international.

The north London giants have ‘already started doing due diligence on potential replacements’.

Partey could leave if asking price is met

The 30-year-old has been a key player from the number six role for the Gunners, but he has missed nearly 40 games over the past three years with injuries.

Last season was his best in the Gunners shirt as he managed to stay injury-free from October, but Arsenal are still open to cashing in for a suitable transfer fee.

Sheth has not disclosed the price, but Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that there are a number of Saudi clubs willing to pay €40 million in multiple instalments.

Partey prefers to stay in Europe this season and in our opinion, the benchmark for the price tag has already been set by the interest from the Middle East.

Southampton’s Romeo Lavia is one of the candidates that could replace Partey but as things stand, Arsenal are not close to negotiating the midfielder’s exit.

If there are no lucrative bids on the table, Arsenal could decide to keep the experienced star for another year with his contract only expiring in the summer of 2025.
