Mikel Arteta’s son spotted in training yesterday among Arsenal’s coaching staff in the US pre-season tour
|Arsenal are currently in the United States for their pre-season tour and will kick things off with a clash against MLS All-Star on July 20.
They face Manchester United on July 22 before wrapping things up with a clash against Barcelona on July 26.
The Gunners took off to North America on Sunday with 27 players and both Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey are expected to join them.
Arsenal have released official pictures from Monday’s training while journalists have also been posting some of the videos from the training.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted a youngster with the coaching staff with his own customised gear, and he has been identified as manager Mikel Arteta’s son Gabriel.
The 14-year-old was seen watching the players going through their paces, and he is surely enjoying the scenes.
Some top older managers often involve their sons in their managerial set-up, and it appears Arteta is starting to show Gabriel the ropes.
Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are also part of the players in the United States after both joining Arsenal over the weekend.
However, the England international midfielder only did some light work on the bike yesterday and was part of the group who did not work on the grass as planned
Rice is likely to join others on the pitch today or tomorrow ahead of a potential debut on Thursday, but Arteta will not be in any rush and will ensure that the most expensive signing in Arsenal history will be fully fit before tasting action.
