Laura Woods says her claim that Arsenal can challenge for next Premier League has upset Tottenham fans

TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods has revealed that she has upset Tottenham Hotspur fans after claiming the ‘realistic ambition for’ Arsenal next season is to challenge for the Premier League.

The former talkSPORT host claimed the Gunners have everything it takes to push for the English top-flight after their brilliant summer recruitment.

She also believes Arsenal could challenge the bigwigs in the Champions League after returning to the elite Europe competition for the first time since 2017.

Woods reacted to a post on Twitter after it was shared by a Gunners’ fan account, and she revealed that her claim has left Spurs fans fuming.

The presenter is a huge Arsenal supporter and never hesitates to let the world know of her admiration for the North London club.

The Gunners missed out on the title by five points last term after leading the way for the majority of the campaign.

Arsenal spent 248 days at the top of the Premier League table but won just five of their last 11 league games, and the dip in form allowed Manchester City to catch up with them and overtake them.

They have since added Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber to their squad this summer and could still land one or two more players.

Winning their first Premier League title since 2004 next term will not be easy, especially given how solid Man City have been over the last three campaigns.

However, they will fancy their chances of mounting a stronger title challenge having come close to winning it last time out.
