Arsenal expecting formal bid from Inter for Balogun as club focus on departures

Arsenal are focusing on departures right now after spending over £200 million on three players this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners have recruited England international midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United in a £105m deal, Germany international attacker Kai Havertz cost them £65m after he joined from Chelsea while the Netherlands international defender Jurrien Timber was snapped up for £38m from Ajax.

Arsenal are still keen on a right winger and midfielder but will need to make sales before making further additions.

Folarin Balogun is expected to fetch them the most money, and Inter Milan are expected to table a formal bid for the USA international striker in the coming days.

AC Milan, Marseille and AS Monaco are also keen on the Arsenal academy graduate, with the North London club demanding £50m from suitors for his services.

Balogun is behind Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in the pecking order after returning from a season-long loan at Reims last term.

The 22-year-old bagged 21 goals in 37 games across all competitions last term and has ruled out leaving on another loan.

While the youngster has huge potential, Arsenal are unlikely to get £50m for him, and half of that could be a realistic fee.

They have been linked with Ajax attacker Mohamed Kudus, but Chelsea have joined them in the race and they will need to move quickly to have a chance of getting the Ghana international.
