Nottingham Forest want Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner
|Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner is on the radar of Nottingham Forest, according to The Athletic.
The Gunners know the City Ground club are looking at the United States international and talks are ongoing between both clubs.
However, there is distance between the clubs’ valuations of the 29-year-old and there is no guarantee a move will happen.
Turner joined Arsenal from New England Revolution last summer but made no Premier League appearance in his debut season with the North London club.
He played seven games across all competitions, impressing manager Mikel Arteta in the Europa League group stage victory over Bodo/Glimt, with the Spaniard dubbing him ‘phenomenal’.
Turner would love to test himself in the Premier League, but the form of Aaron Ramsdale means his chances of forcing his way into the starting XI are very slim.
The Gunners are also looking to bolster their options in goal, and Brentford goalie David Raya has emerged as a summer target.
The Spain international has been on their radar for a while, and landing him will all but spend the end of Turner’s time at Arsenal.
The North Londoners have spent over £200 million on three players this summer and are currently concentrating on departures.
A suitable offer from Nottingham could tempt them to sell the American, and he is also likely to be willing to move where he has a chance of playing regularly.
