Arsenal in contact with Eintracht for Jesper Lindstrom
|Arsenal and Liverpool are ‘already in contact’ with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign midfielder Jesper Lindstrom, according to Danish publication Ekstra Bladet (page 43).
The Gunners have already bolstered their midfield with Kai Havertz and Declan Rice this summer, but the club are still exploring possible additions to the squad.
Lindstrom has been linked with the club for several months, and Ekstra Bladet claim that Eintracht would be compelled to sell him if a good offer arrives on the table.
The Bundesliga outfit are currently eyeing between €35-40 million, but it is reported that the price could rise to €50-55m if there is massive competition for him.
Arsenal and Liverpool have already held talks with the German side. Newcastle, Tottenham, RB Leipzig, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli are also his admirers.
Arsenal unlikely to sign another attacking midfielder
The Gunners currently have Martin Odegaard as an undisputed starter in the number 10 role.
The Norwegian star was superb last season with 15 goals and eight assists in the top-flight.
Behind him, the club have the likes of Fabio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe, who hardly played in the Premier League during the course of the 2022/23 season.
Vieira scored a splendid long-range goal in the 3-0 win over Brentford in September last year, but he managed just 499 minutes over the entire campaign.
Meanwhile, Smith Rowe registered only 161 minutes, having taken plenty of time to recover from a groin surgery. He will be aiming to make amends this season.
Both players have a point to prove going forward. In our view, Arsenal are unlikely to spend big on Lindstrom, who is predominantly an attacking midfielder.
