Inter Milan could present €20m offer for Takehiro Tomiyasu
|Inter Milan could present a €20 million offer for Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, should they sign Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic, according to Calciomercato journalist Pasquale Guarro.
The Nerazzurri are exploring a new centre-forward in the transfer market. They recently made a bid of €35m plus bonuses for Folarin Balogun, but the Gunners rejected the proposal.
The San Siro outfit are now looking into a low-cost transfer of Arnautovic. If they are successful in signing the Austrian, they could make an offer worth €20m to purchase Tomiyasu.
Arsenal should not part ways with Tomiyasu
The Gunners have added quality in multiple positions this summer. Jurrien Timber has proved a brilliant signing thus far as he has the ability to play anywhere in defence.
Despite this, the club need depth in the squad to deal with untimely injuries. There could be an increased possibility of that happening with the lesser rotation due to the Champions League.
Hence, the north London giants need good back-up options in the squad. In our view, Tomiyasu could have a big role to play, considering he has versatile attributes similar to Timber.
The Japan international has had a tough time with injuries during his first two seasons at the club, but the hierarchy should not give up on him unless there is a significant transfer bid.
The 24-year-old was signed from Bologna two years ago for €18.5m plus bonuses. With him in his prime at 24, the Gunners should not contemplate offloading him on the cheap.
