Newcastle want to sign Kieran Tierney on an initial loan

Newcastle United are interested in signing Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney on an initial loan deal, according to The Telegraph.
The Tyneside outfit have made immense progress since their Saudi-led takeover in 2021. They qualified for the Champions League last season.
The Magpies have started the new campaign with a resounding 5-1 win over Aston Villa, but they are looking for more defensive reinforcements.
As per The Telegraph, Eddie Howe’s side are interested in landing Tierney from the Gunners, but can only afford a temporary deal at the moment.
The club are prepared to include an option or an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
The Scottish left-back was not in the matchday squad for the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest. Arsenal are thought to be ‘very keen’ on his exit.
For now, the Gunners prefer to part ways with the 26-year-old on a straight-cash deal.
Arsenal likely to offload Tierney this summer
Tierney played every game for the Gunners during pre-season, but he was a regular substitute.
The likes of Jakub Kiwior, Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu were picked ahead of him with Oleksandr Zinchenko on the sidelines with a calf problem.
Against Forest, Tierney was not in the matchday squad. Timber started at left-back. The Dutchman’s injury saw him replaced by Tomiyasu after the break.
In our view, this is a clear indication that the Scot is no longer in the manager’s plans. A decision has been made to part ways before the transfer deadline.
Newcastle have revived their long-term interest, but we feel the Gunners should not sanction his sale unless they are guaranteed a permanent transfer.
This could be through an immediate sale or a loan deal with a mandatory buy clause. Arsenal are likely to demand around £30 million to sanction his exit.
