Arsenal drawn against Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and RC Lens in Group B of the Champions League

Arsenal have been drawn alongside Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and RC Lens in the Group B of the Champions League for the 2023-24 campaign.

The Gunners last played in the elite European competition in 2016-17, and it was their 17th consecutive appearance before they missed out on qualification for the next six seasons.

Arsenal were drawn alongside Paris Saint-Germain, Ludogorets Razgrad and Basel in Group A that season, finishing top of the group after four wins and two draws.

They were knocked out of the last-16 by Bayern Munich having lost 10-2 on aggregate, and they will be keen to do better and impress this term.

The North London club will kick off their continental campaign on 19/20 September 2023, and the group campaign will continue until the sixth and final fixtures are held on December 12/13.

Arsenal are reuniting with PSV having faced the Eredivisie side in the Europa League group-stage last season, and while the Dutch side and Sevilla could prove to be tricky opponents, the Gunners will fancy their chances of booking a place in the round of 16.

They were dumped out at the last-16 in six of their last seven appearances in the Champions League, but they have a squad capable of advancing further this time around.

While Lens look like the easiest opponents in Group B, the Ligue 1 club missed out on the French top-flight title by just a point to Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal must not underrate them even though they have started the new season with two defeats and a draw.
