Arsenal’s Champions League group stage fixtures
|The UEFA have today released the schedule for the Champions League group stage for Arsenal.
The Gunners were drawn alongside Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and RC Lens on Thursday, and the fixture list has now been officially confirmed for the campaign.
The north London giants will restart their Champions League journey after six years with a home game against PSV which will be played on September 20.
Mikel Arteta’s side will be facing the Dutch side for the second year running, having played against each other in the Europa League group stage last term.
On Matchday 2, Mikel Arteta’s side travel to Lens, who were the runners-up in Ligue 1 last season.
They will tackle the French outfit on October 3. After the international break, the Gunners make the trip to Seville on October 24 to face the Europa League holders.
Arsenal will host Sevilla at the Emirates on November 8 before entertaining Lens at home on November 29. The final group game will be at PSV on December 12.
Arsenal have been handed with a relatively easier group compared to some European rivals. However, they can’t be complacent and need to meet expectations with victories.
The club play two of their final three group stage games at home which is definitely a boost. They could secure qualification by then if they make a good start to the campaign.
