Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirms Bukayo Saka injury boost ahead of Everton clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is fit to play ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park.

The England international has been a mainstay in the starting line-up over the past few years, and he recently broke the club record for the most consecutive appearances in the league.

It was recently speculated that Saka has been nursing a nagging Achilles issue, and he could be doubtful for the Merseyside trip. However, this has been dismissed by the Gunners boss.

Speaking in today’s press conference, the manager said that Saka is fine and trained normally with his teammates. He added that minor niggles are part and parcel of the game.

He told Arsenal.com: “He’s fine. He trained normally today so nothing to report there. Every player has pains or issues. That’s normal in elite sports, but nothing to worry about.”

Arsenal have had a good start to the Premier League campaign with 10 points from their opening four games. They dropped two points versus Fulham where they should have won.

On Sunday, the Gunners will face the Toffees at Goodison Park. The club have had sore memories in the previous five visits to the stadium, picking up just one point in the process.

Despite this, the north London side should be favourites against Sean Dyche’s men, who have been defensively vulnerable and have just one point after four games into the season.

The Gunners’ faithful will be hoping that the club can end their hoodoo at Goodison to avoid losing more ground on Manchester City at the early phase of the top-flight campaign.

Pep Guardiola’s side are generally slow starters, but they have made the perfect start with 12 points this term and should be fancied to beat West Ham United on the road this weekend.
