Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Everton

Arsenal travel to Goodison Park for today’s Premier League clash against Everton.

The Gunners registered an impressive 3-1 comeback win over Manchester United before the international break, and they will be aiming for another victory against the Toffees.

It won’t be straightforward, considering their dreadful record in Merseyside over recent years. They have picked up just one point from the previous five visits to Goodison.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping to end the hoodoo with a fourth win of the campaign.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Aaron Ramsdale has been Arsenal’s undisputed choice in goal despite the arrival of David Raya from Brentford on loan. The Englishman has kept just one clean sheet. He should fancy his chances of another shut-out against Sean Dyche’s side.

The defence could stay unchanged from the United win. Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko are the club’s best backline at the moment, and Arteta should stick with the same combination this afternoon.

With Thomas Partey injured, Declan Rice looks set to continue in the number six position instead of playing in a more creative role. The Gunners’ Player of the Month for August could be partnered by Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard in midfield.

Havertz squandered a clear-cut scoring opportunity against United before conceding possession in the lead-up to Marcus Rashford’s goal. Despite this, we anticipate him to get the backing from Arteta.

Further forward, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should be nailed-on starters on the right and left wing respectively. Saka was deemed doubtful with an Achilles issue, but Arteta has clarified that he is fine and ready to play on Sunday.

Gabriel Jesus could lead the line ahead of Eddie Nketiah, having scored the third goal against United off the bench from a splendid counter-attack. We could see plenty of rotation between the two this term.
