Arsenal keeping tabs on Reading duo Caylan Vickers and Tyler Bindon

Arsenal are interested in signing Reading forward Caylan Vickers and centre-back Tyler Bindon, according to the Daily Express.

The Gunners will send their scouts to watch Exeter City host the League One side in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday evening, and the talent spotters will hope both get to see action.

Vickers became the youngest player to score in League One this season aged 18 years and 268 days after coming off the bench to grab the winner in the 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

The teenage sensation has featured in all seven league games for Reading so far this term, starting four and making three appearances off the bench.

Bindon has played thrice since joining Ruben Selles’ side from Los Angeles FC in August, and the poise with which the 18-year-old American has handled the step up to senior football is attracting Arsenal and other suitors.

The United States under-19 international is in his debut season as a professional just like Vickers, but both have shown what they are capable of doing within a short while and will look to help their side secure promotion to the Championship.

Reading are currently 21st in the table after seven games, but Selles will fancy his chances of helping them up.

Keeping the teenage duo beyond January will be important to their promotion hopes, and Arsenal are unlikely to table any offers during the winter transfer window.

The Gunners will still have to decide whether they want Vickers or Bindon, both or neither once their scouting missions are over.

Given the plethora of options available in attack and at the back for manager Mikel Arteta, the Reading youngsters will only be joining the Arsenal under-23 squad if the club decide to take a punt on them in January or next summer.

However, whether they will be willing to forsake senior football for youth team football at this stage remains to be seen.
