Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs Tottenham Hotspur
|Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made two big changes to the starting line-up for today’s Premier League derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
The north London giants are currently on a three-match winning run in all competitions and will be aiming for another victory against their arch-rivals.
Ahead of the game, Arteta has opted for two changes from the 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night.
Kai Havertz has dropped to the bench with Fabio Vieira replacing him. The Portuguese will make up a three-man midfield alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
In attack, Eddie Nketiah has got the nod to lead the line in the north London derby. Gabriel Jesus starts as well with Leandro Trossard ruled out of the game with an injury.
Trossard has been in sublime form with two goals and an assist in the last two games, but he has been sidelined for the game due to a slight muscle issue, as per Arsenal.
Arsenal’s starting line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs: David Raya; Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Fábio Vieira; Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus.
Arsenal have a dominant record against Spurs in their home patch. They have suffered just one league loss to their north London rivals since moving to the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta’s side will start the derby as favourites on paper, but Spurs can’t be underestimated with their renewed attacking approach under Ange Postecoglou.
It promises to be an entertain affair this afternoon, and Gunners fans will be hoping for another win to close the gap to Manchester City at the top to two points.
